Daniel of Arabica

... and welcome to Daniel of Arabica

As you may have already guessed, my name is Daniel. I geek out on coffee. Then, I write about it here. I’ve worked in cafés since ‘91 but I’ve never before witnessed such an explosion of interest in high quality coffee as that which is happening right now.

I buy it, I brew it, I taste it and then I write about it. Here, in “The Lab” (hyperbole!) I use as empirically based a method as my equipment will allow (i.e., controlling for brew time, coffee to H20 ratios, and brewing method). Beyond that it’s all about impressions and subjective experience.

I hope you find your experience of reading Daniel of Arabica as rewarding as I find writing it.
